A Great Poultry Farm at Lancaster Mass
The Lancaster Mass poultry farm runs 8000 Plymouth Rocks owned by Mr Hawkins. The 25 acre operation includes 25 sheds and 200 foot long divisions housing about twenty five hens each with infront yards. He raises 8000 fowls in fall and over 2500 hens through winter and sells eggs and fowls at high profit. He began with 100 hens at age 21 and by 28 earned a handsome income. Five hundred barrels of poultry manure sold last year at 1.50 each.
