Political Gerrymandering Threatens Representation in Commonwealth
The excerpt argues that redistricting to attach Democratic-leaning townships to neighboring counties would allow Republicans to gain a seat. It cites 1880 voting totals showing Democrats at 407,428 votes for seven seats and Republicans at 440,704 for twenty seats, highlighting disenfranchisement and a constitutional violation. The author calls for remedies against such manipulation.
