The Pennsylvania legislature adjourned after six weary months with no action except a judicial apportionment bill. Both houses approved pay of about 1700 dollars per member for the extra session plus 1500 for the prior session, despite pledges not to take pay after September 10. Governor Pattison vetoed but the bills were repassed over his veto. The public chastises this perceived robbery under law and calls for accountability, noting exceptions among some honorable members.
