R. J. Payne of Pontypool conducted his first Millbrook sale since entering the profession a few years ago. He urged anyone contemplating a sale to contact him, Pontypool, Ontario, for favorable results.
Grace Presbyterian Sunday School hosts its annual Rally Day on Sunday September 22 at 11 a.m. Rev Walter Patterson will preach on And Jesus said follow me and I will make you fishers of men. Junior boys and girls provide special music. Parents and congregation invited to attend and support the after holiday rally. Superintendent urged attendance.
Mr and Mrs Alexander Harkness announce the engagement of their youngest daughter Ann Carolyn to William Wallace Haney son of Mrs W Haney and the late Mr Haney. The marriage is set for October 18 1957 at 7 pm at St Thomas Anglican Church Millbrook.
The Golden Sheaf Rebekah Lodge No. 176 will hold a baking sale in the Lodge Room on Saturday September 28 at 2 30 p m. Proceeds benefit lodge activities and community projects.

Rev Alexander Chisholm and Mrs Chisholm visited Canada with their son and daughter in law Rev Francis P Chisholm and Mrs Chisholm. They were guests of honour at a Cavan United Church dinner where a quartet sang, a solo was performed, and a gift of Minton china was presented. Mr Chisholm spoke and thanked the congregation, also playing the Hammond organ. The gathering closed with Blest be the tie that binds. The Chisholms left for Toronto to visit another son and his family.
Christians at Work theme marked the second Annual Conference of Men at Albert College Belleville. Over 100 laymen from the United Church Bay of Quinte Conference attended as Dr L H Cragg spoke three times. Stuart Robb chaired the event with Eric Whiteley coordinating the program.

The wedding of Miss Nancy Way Armstrong daughter of Mr and Mrs Truman Arthur Armstrong and Mr William Lawrence son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Tittensor of Hamilton was held at the Church of St Augustine of Canterbury with Rev H N Bracken officiating. The bride wore a nylon tulle gown with baby lace and carried a gardenia and stephanotis bouquet. Attendants wore blue and coral gowns with matching bouquets. A reception followed in the Park Plaza Empress Room and the couple plan to reside in Hamilton after a honeymoon to New York and Bermuda.
