36th Conference At Newcastle In Durham and Northumberland

The 36th Conference of the Deanery of Durham and Northumberland met at St George's Newcastle on September 25 with a service at 10 30 a m and 106 communicants. The afternoon session featured Dr Leonard F Hatfield discussing He Cares and church social service aims. Funds and pledges were outlined for missions and welfare programs including Ludhiana and Saskatoon Refrigerator Fund.

William John Pritchard obituary 188th? 88th year

William John Pritchard died after a short illness at Trenton on October 1 1958 while visiting his daughter. He was 87 88 and born in Cavan Township. He farmed before retirement and lived in Millbrook. Survived by daughter Mabel Hutchinson and son Suttle. wife Mary Simpson predeceased him. Funeral October 4 at J W Haw Funeral Home Millbrook with Rev H B Herrington. buried Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers included three grandsons Arnold Hutchinson Kenneth Hutchinson Donald Pritchard Carl Boyd William Armstrong Allan Earle.

Local Association Meeting for Brownies and Guides

A meeting to form a Local Association to assist Brownie Packs and Guide Companies in the district will be held on Tuesday October 21 at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs Edith Neave on Ann Street. The group aims to support Guiders, organize Packs and Companies, and help raise funds to aid the girls.
