Oldsmobile announces a complete 1959 redesign with increased glass area and passenger space. Two new engines deliver economy and power in Dynamic 88, Super 88, and 98 series. models include Holiday SceniCoupe and Holiday Sport Sedan. New Power Steering and Air-Scoop Brakes For 1959 Oldsmobiles
Oldsmobile introduces a new power steering system with a rotary control valve offering faster response and reduced effort. In parking, steering requires 50 percent less effort than before. The feature is standard on the 8 Series and optional on Super 88 and Dynamic 88. Brake fade and lining wear are reduced by the Air-Scoop brake design, which uses a large flange to channel cooling air around the drums for better cooling.
