Mrs H McConnell fractured her hip after a fall at her daughter Mrs B E Ingham’s home and is confined to Civic Hospital Peterborough. Deputy Reeve J H McKnight and Mrs McKnight left Monday for a trip to Alameda Saskatchewan to visit their aunt.
St Thomas’ WA meeting reports Ascension Day gospel reading by Rev H C Quinn, secretary duties by Mrs Campbell, and finances showing a balance. A May 27 confirmation with Bishop Snell was announced, plus a July parish teachers training session. Fundraising tea cleared 36.50. Dorcas items sent. May 30 delegation will attend W A Diososan Board at Cobourg St Peter’s. Hostesses served refreshments.
A Toronto run of a year brings Oklahoma to Capitol Theatre Port Hope showing next Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. The Technicolor film is acclaimed and billed as terrific promising strong audience appeal in the district.
Brownies met Wednesday in the Parish Hall at 4 15. They split into three groups for Golden Hand semaphore practice and Golden Bar tests. Two games and a pow wow discussion followed, ending with taps.
