Brown Trout Weighing 8% Lb Caught At Pond

Richard Fickling landed a brown trout weighing about eight and a half pounds in a Sunday evening pond fishing. The fish measured 26 1/4 inches with a 16 inch girth, and was described as the largest caught so far this spring.

Social Personal News From Bethany and Nearby

Mr George Taylor of Royal Oak visited with his sister and her husband the Blairs last week. Mrs Alfred Coulter who spent six weeks with her daughter and son in law the Walkers New York returned home by plane last Wednesday. Dr Stuart Speller has moved with his family to Bethany from Thornhill and began May 21 assisting Dr Longfield. July 1 he will take over the practice as Dr Longfield leaves for Flint to study pathology. Dr Spelley is from Guysborough Nova Scotia. Mrs Wilf Gray and Mervyn Gray with daughter Janet of Toronto were visitors with Mr and Mrs J H Barringer on Sunday. Mr and Mrs Geo Raymes left for Burnaby BC to visit Mr and Mrs W H Williamson this week. Mrs Law M Fallis is in Toronto due to daughter Nan having an operation Tuesday morning. We wish her a quick recovery.

Montreal riders plan 25009 mile trek across continents

Roger Bertrand and Jean Paul Bermon of Montreal visited Mill Brook on Saturday drawing many admirers. They began from Montreal April 22 on a five year journey across Canada the United States Mexico and Central and South America. After Millbrook they headed to Bowmanville Oshawa aiming to reach Toronto around May 28. The round trip is estimated to take five years.
