Mrs Walter Patterson Honored At Grace Church Event

A social evening at Grace Presbyterian Church Millbrook featured tributes to Mrs Walter Patterson for eight years as organist. Gerald Armstrong presented her with a cheque from the congregation while readings and songs were performed. The minister and congregation expressed gratitude and best wishes for her health and happiness.

Nelles Rowland Dies Sudden in Toronto Banker Former Millbrook Boy

Nelles Rowland, 49, of Millbrook origin and Toronto Dominion Bank manager, died March 19 1958 in Toronto Ontario after attending worship at St Andrew's Sunday with his family. Survived by widow Rhea Evans two children Janet and William two sisters and two brothers funeral held at St Andrew's Millbrook and graveside service in Gardiner's Cemetery.

Cavan Scout Group Holds First Father and Son Banquet

The first annual Father and Son Banquet of Cavan Scout Group took place at Cavan United Church on a Friday evening. A turkey supper was provided by the Scout Mothers' Auxiliary with H. Allen welcoming attendees. Reports came from G. Staples, C. Tripp, and Mrs. W. Swain. Mrs. H. Kennedy presented a Totem Pole to the Cubs and a Troop Flag to the Scouts. Rev. F. P. Chisholm introduced guest Provincial Field Commissioner A. Jackson of Brigh Pose by Ronald Grylls and Jon. Votes of thanks were given by Mr. Claire Winslow. The programme ended with the Scout Benediction.
