Last Thursday night the annual dress carnival and races at Millbrook and Cavan Memorial Arena drew a fine attendance, with many children despite early mild weather. P E Hamilton announced results while Councillor Vincent Crough started races. winners covered numerous age groups in fancy dress and comic costume, with Mrs Ted DeDowell winning the adult race.

Edith Amelia Sheppard’s Faithful Service Remembered
An appreciation notes Edith Sheppard came to Canada in 1904 to serve the Needham household and remained a devoted companion to Miss May Needham until illness in 1958. Sheppard, once a regular at St. Agnes choir, belonged to Golden Links, and was a member of St Andrew's United Church. Funeral held March 5 at Miss Needham’s home, with ministers from St Andrew's and St Thomas' Anglican Church. Burial in Gardiner Cemetery. Active pallbearers named. honorary bearers listed. Poem concludes the tribute.

Lady Lions donate accordion to Cobourg Old Folks Home
