Campbellford reeve C L Owen elected warden after a multi round vote at Cobourg with 49 members present. The united counties council formed standing committees, appointed Port Hope delegates, and discussed taxation, lands in arrears, and the Narrows bridge expenses. The council adjourned after a busy session and reconvened to handle arbitration over a bridge with Seymon township.

Centreville Court No 1242 I C F held a pleasant evening installing officers for the next half year. Supremes Fair and Montgomery officiated. A gold headed cane was presented to Dr W Montgomery with a warm address. The crowd enjoyed refreshments and strong brotherhood. Local items note visiting preachers, village shop talk, and praise for Rev Cattanach’s improving health. A McFee’s tailoring and Clover threshing notes appear as well as patent medicine ads.
