Sunday services at St Andrew's drew a good crowd despite deep snow and a stormy day with five in Sunday school. The Rev Mr Herrington preached on Acts 9 1 92 and Saul of Tarsus. Mrs Stanley Northrop sang Peace on Earth to mark the Christmas season. After the service the congregation left the calling of a minister to the Official Board.

Brownies Earn Badges and Add Supplies in November
During November the Brownies held weekly meetings and passed tests for Golden Bar and Golden Hand badges. Tests included Knots Skipping Ball Table Setting Nature Queen Rhythm Carrying Message Skipping Knit. Barbara Trick earned the Toy Maker Badge. Brownie funds bought two large balls two skipping ropes and a stapler. New songs and games were introduced.

Lily A. Wood of Peterborough Ontario wife of the late John Abbott died at Civic Hospital on December 2 1958. She was mother to Hugh Abbott of Millbrook and Mrs A Baron Megan of Montreal. She rests at J W Haw Funeral Home Millbrook with services Friday December 5 at 2 pm conducted by Rev J Edgar M Palfrey. Interment in St Pauls Cemetery Cavan.
Rabies Control Committee Recommendations Published
The Rabies Control Committee of the United Counties of Northumberland and Durham advises new by law incentives and hunter precautions during the 1958 outbreak. A four dollar bounty applies to foxes killed after October 23 1958, with claims to municipal representatives. Recommendations include vaccination for hunters, careful handling of fox carcasses, avoiding head contact, wearing leather gloves when removing brush, bagging brush, and cautious knife use.
