Polio Vaccination for Adults Planned in Northumberland Durham
Health Unit reports no poliomyelitis cases in the United Counties to date in 1958, with 1957 one case and 1951 fifty one cases including one death. Twenty thousand children have received three doses in three years. Early 1958 Salk vaccine expanded to private physicians. Dr. Charlotte Horner plans adult clinics this fall and in 1959 to give third doses. Adults under forty urged to be inoculated by doctors or clinic centres.

South Monaghan Council Minutes August 4 1958
The regular meeting of the Township of South Monaghan was held August 4 in the Township Hall at 8 30 pm with all members present. Reeve Ray Bothwell chaired. Minutes from the previous meeting were read and adopted. Accounts totaling 1656 34 were passed for payment. Correspondence included notices from the Department of Planning and Development, Precision Prefab Products, Zurich Consultant Ltd, Department Public Welfare, Northumberland and Parham Health Unit, and the United Counties Clerk's office. A transfer of $200.00 was approved for fire truck services with the Village of Millbrook ending 1958.
