On Wednesday April 9 at 3.00 pm St Andrews WMS will host Dr Neal as guest speaker in the Church Hall. Everyone welcome to attend this community meeting.

William Samuel Kennedy died after long illness on March 24 in Millbrook. Born in Howick Ontario he was son of the late James Kennedy and Eliza McGill. He lived in Carmel district and later Millbrook for about fourteen years. Survived by wife Charlotte Gardiner a son Vertil Kennedy three daughters Rita Ol an Verna Olan and Louella Buck a sister Miss Ida Kennedy and fifteen grandchildren. An Orange service was held at Haw Funeral Home and the funeral was at J W Haw Funeral Home Millbrook conducted by Rev Francis P Chisholm. Interment Gardiner's Cemetery. Mr Don Kingdon of Peterborough visited Millbrook Tuesday.
A bake sale of home baking and aprons will be held at Coulter Bros Limited store on Saturday April 12 from 3 to 5 pm. The event is under the auspices of the Women's Auxiliary of St. Thomas Anglican Church.
Durham County High School District Board in Bowmanville after a six hour meeting defers final decision on site for a new high school. Newcastle favors Crono, while Darling ton and Millbrook residents fear losing facilities. Bowmanville HS already overcrowded with 750 students next year and 950 by 1960. A reply to Newcastle's open letter and a formal statement are planned for a future meeting.
For over two years Millbrook residents from various churches have met weekly in a Bible study and prayer group named Hour of Power. This week the gathering is at Mr and Mrs William O Brian home on Thursday evening April 3 at 8 p.m. An invitation is extended to attend the Christian fellowship and join in singing church hymns this weekend.
The Executive of the Mill Brook Branch of the Canadian Red Cross Society express sincere thanks to donors and collectors for excellent support to the first Blitz campaign. Collectors worked early and efficiently, with lunch served by branch ladies while returns were tabulated. Receipts amount to $425.00 in the village.
