Charles Sloan a longtime Milford business and political figure shows gradual strength recovery ten days after a stroke. He was taken to Milford hospital after collapsing in a barbershop, then moved to an apartment at the Atkin hotel to be cared for by his daughter Jayne (Babe) Sloan, who arrived from Salt Lake. Another daughter, Mrs. Mel Stanley, had visited recently.
Telluride Power company employees and friends held their annual outing at Upper Beaver station last Sunday despite rain. Under superintendent L R Fournier the office porch became a stage for comic skits won by Milford and Delta. Directors F Noon and H R Waldo attended along with managers and guests. lunch included coffee ice cream and cookies as the event emphasized fellowship and democratic spirit in business life.
Mr and Mrs Vance Fisher and children Richard and Dorothy left Sunday for American Fork to begin a new life. Vance, a nine year veteran at J C Penney, has been named assistant manager of the larger store in the northern Utah metropolis and moved promptly to arrange housing. Their Stoddard street home, recently sold to Mr and Mrs Bishop, marks a notable departure that will be felt by many in the community.
Ford unveils a larger V-8 range with DeLuxe and Super Deluxe variants. Local dealer W R Martin says increased wheelbase and overall length improve interior space and riding comfort with new springs and larger tires.
