Tigers Fall to Dixie in Dixie Division Clash

Dixie High School of St George defeated the Milford Tigers 19 to 12 in a close Dixie Division game. Milford’s quarterbacks were sidelined by injuries, and key players Cerva Kinross and Vaughn McDonald missed significant action. Hospital Notes: Patient Discharges and Admissions Listed

Minersville resident Frank Pryor and Ben Robinson were released on Sept 21. Other medical patients still at the hospital include Archie Lawson LaMar Grimshaw and Andrew Clothier. Idonna Coleman was released Sept 19 after major surgery Sept 10. Edith Gordon, a minor surgery patient, was released Sept 20. Martha Morehouse had major surgery Sept 18. Lewis Thompson was admitted Sept 24 for minor surgery.

Two Beaver County Men Enter Armed Forces Induction

Two Milford and Beaver youths, Robert Floyd Wright and Kenneth H. Barton, departed September 22 for Fort Douglas to begin military service per Selective Service Clerk Miss Bernice Mackerell. No county men will be inducted in October due to lack of 20 year old registrants.

Pheasant Season Opens With 34 Day Hunt Set

A 34 day pheasant season runs Saturday November 8 to Tuesday November 11 and continues through the month. The daily bag limit is three birds and six in possession on opening day. Legal hunting hours are noon to 5 30 p m on opening day and 7 a m to 5 30 p m on subsequent days.

Two Cars Damaged In Minor Accident On Fifth Avenue

Low hanging branches and blinding sun caused a minor collision Monday afternoon at the Roy White corner on Fifth Avenue. Bud Fotheringham and Mrs. Kenneth Hollis escaped injury as their cars side swiped. Fotheringham, northbound on Lewis Street, could not see Hollis, westbound on Fifth Avenue, due to glare.

Mills Family Visit Highlights Lynndyl Trip

Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Mills of Lynndyl were Monday guests of Mrs. Frank Osborn. They and Mrs. Edith Grimshaw lunched with their mother Mrs Osborn on Tuesday, after which Mrs Mills took the train home. Mr. and Mrs. Russel Dutson cared for Mills' children while she was away.

Piennie Su Smith Wins State Poultry Award

Jennie Sue Smith of Ganithee earned a gilt medal and a watch for her "Club demonaurarogn" demonstration at the Utah State Mine event. She carried first place for a display on freezing wyicn preparation and will have two products entered in the International Fair in Portland, Oregon. The watch is being engraved and will be presented by the Utah Poultry and Farmers Cooperative, sponsor, with a return prize demonstration at the state convention in February.

Dairy meet set for Monday at Beaver

Dairymen are invited to a meeting at the County Court House on Monday, Sept. 22, at 8:30. Grant Esplin Beaver County Agent says Lynan Rich from USAC will explain the use of IBM machines in dairy herd improvement cow testing. If interest grows a DHI A association may be formed in Beaver. One dairyman, Mr. Wart, currently has his herd tested for milk and butterfat.

Famed Mission Ship Sails Again in Adventist Centennial Movie

A 40 minute re enactment film marks the 100th anniversary of Seventh day Adventist Sabbath schools. The Pitcairn ship voyage is dramatized with aid of a schooner, highlighting John Tay and his Pacific missions. Dozens of Adventist ships have followed in its wake, with over ten thousand churches observing the centennial.
