Dental Law Cost Much Exaggerated In Utah Supreme Court
Secretary of State Milton H. Welling denied claims that enacting the dental advertising initiative would cost Utah $100000. He said the cost would not exceed $5000 as the state’s voters consider the first initiative measure in nearly 20 years. Dr. W L Withers and the People Dental League filed petitions with over 34000 voter names across 23 counties seeking ballot submission to amend Utah dental laws allowing dentist advertising. Organized dentists challenged withdrawal petitions as insufficient and sued to keep the question on the ballot. The case awaits the state supreme court hearing this week.
