Mrs Margaret Wright Williams 37 died at 1 a m Thursday September 21 after years of ill health. Born Charleston Utah December 1913 she married Max Williams of Minersville July 14 1937 in Beaver. Husband killed by lightning June 26 1945. Survived by two children Anne and Jimmie sister Tressa Williams American Fork two brothers Gail Wright American Fork and William Virgil Wright Marysvale. Funeral 2 p m Sunday at Minersville Ward LDS chapel burial Minersville Cemetery under Bishop Ruben Dotson.
Mr and Mrs George Baker announce the birth of a son on September 15 in Milford Hospital. This is their third child and second son. A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Fred Herren on September 17 in Milford Hospital, completing a trio of daughters for the El Capitan Oil Company drilling superintendent.
Verdell and Dorothy Hoopes welcomed their first child, a girl, born September 20, with Welcoming parents Mr. and Mrs. ValJean Williams adding a son on September 19. Martha Ellen Carlton is the former Mrs. Williams. Teddy Kronholm was admitted to the hospital Tuesday for treatment. Last week several patients received care at the hospital including Mrs Lula Clay Joyce Coon Spencer Whitaker Harold Fitch Arbateen Davis of Minersville and Mrs Hazel Muir of Beaver. Lamar Grimshaw underwent a major surgical operation Friday of last week. Mrs Gertrude Cook is recuperating at her daughter Mrs Bertha Cottrell's home after a light stroke treatment.
The Minersville school under Principal Sherman Carter and teachers hosted a spring fair last Friday. An outstanding display featured vegetables, scarce fruit due to frost, abundant flowers, and children’s pets including many cats, dogs, rabbits, goldfish, turtles, and bunnies. Dolls and handmade crafts complemented the exhibit.
The Parent Teachers Association plans a big start to the year with a square dance Monday night at 8 in the High School gym. Parents teachers and students can get acquainted instructors will teach dances refreshments will be served the event is free and features demonstrations.

The third test oil well north of Milford reached 3100 feet by Thursday noon with drilling paused awaiting Geologist Mendell M. Bell of Salt Lake City. Operations began last Monday, No. 3 lies about 125 feet south of the first test well abandoned in the 1920s after a casing separated and jammed the hole.
