Survived by wife Jennie Smith Nichols and children Clairmont Mildred Virginia Peggy and others, with siblings and mother in Salt Lake City duties included United States commissioner and post office clerk. Funeral services held with Masonic rites and burial under Masonic auspices.
The Clic Service and Activities department of the National Parks Council of the Boy Scouts of America plans a Diatriot Jamboree to stimulate early interest in troop activities and prep for the national and international jamborees next year. Beaver District Chatman says the district jamboree is set for September 5 at Milford Beouts with all troops in the district invited to attend from noon to 7 AM the next day, including opening ceremony, colors, events, supper, campfire program, watermelons, morning treasure hunt, breakfast, and closing tag demonstration.

The Union Pacific Railroad at Omaha took delivery of the first of fifteen new Challenger type locomotives, built for high speed freight through mountains. The 4664 articulated engine weighs about 86 tons, measures over 110 feet with tender, and includes a mechanical stoker and large firebox. The $2,000,000 order from Union Pacific and American Locomotive Company will be completed in 90 days.
Frank H Spearman author of Gunlock Ranch is praised for helping Wallace Reid rise as a film actor.
