Former Residents Meet by Yellowstone River on Vacation

Mr and Mrs Wm T Morley formerly of Milford return to Caliente after a three week Yellowstone National Park trip. At a lonely bend on the Yellowstone River they spot a familiar car and see James L Morley, Bill Morley’s brother from Aberdeen South Dakota, whom he had not seen in 15 years. The chance reunion doubles the enjoyment of their vacation.

At the Fifth judicial district Democratic convention in Nephi Grover A Giles Millard county attorney was nominated for judge. John M Foster Cedar City was the other candidate. Contract let for new Milford Ward Chapel of L D 8

The Milford Ward Chapel project for the L D 8 church awarded to EB Thompson of Salt Lake City. Thompson also holds the Gun nison chapel contract. Excavation under way and construction to start today with material from Murnock academy building to be hauled to Milford after demolition of Milford portion completed.

Milford Crowned Twin Wins Over Minersville In Baseball Tidbits

Milford defeated Minersville 12 to 5 in eight innings with Rochek striking out 10 and Carter homering for Minersville. In a Sunday rematch Milford won 15 to 8 behind Peterson who scattered 10 hits. Jensen and Carter led Milford with power as Earl Easton made a late appearance at short. Also announced is the marriage of George Valentine to Vina Jones in Milford with plans to reside in Beaver.

Beaver Man Nominated for Congress by Utah Democrats

Abe Murdock Beaver county attorney won the Democratic nomination for Congress in Utahs First District after two ballots at the Orden convention. He faced Don Colton and later opposed by Robinson in the Second District race. Murdock, first elected county attorney in 1922, has three terms and six children with Violet Yardley.

Extension Day at Minersville a Successful Event

The U S A C Extension Service live-at-home program concluded in Minersville with over 400 attendees. Livestock shows featured Holstein and Jersey cattle, plus draft horses and swine, judged by W. W. Owens. A hard fought Minersville Milford ball game and an evening dance capped one of the area's best events.

Calf Swims Puffer Lake to Reach Its Mother

Two month old calf swam across Puffer Lake from North Cove to South Cove to reunite with its mother. Charles Huntington and A Henderson observed the scene while fishing in Beaver s. The calf exhausted after a long swim, then crawled to the shore where the mother cow waited. Forest Ranner Hamonr Sr. Christensen noted it was a rare spectacle.

Registration Dates Set for Pupil Entry This Year

Milford's baseball team will meet Beaver Saturday at that place. A rodeo under the ausplres of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is scheduled in our city on that date, to be followed by the Milford Beaver game. Both teams are playing stout ball.

Doris Hughes twelve is recovering after a skating mishap last Thursday. Dr Parrish reduced the fracture and reports she is doing well.
