Large wind pits up to 15 feet deep appear in north central Utah as the soil conservation service demonstration shows the consequences of overgrazing. Destruction of native grasses and browse plants left soil exposed, with dust storms already harming the Southwest and Dakotas. Grazing is restricted in Salt Lake and Tooele counties while crested wheatgrass and other varieties are being planted to restore cover and enable farming again.

Mrs A J Raines and daughter Audrey returned home to Springfield Illinois after a vacation visit to Mrs Raines farmer. They enjoyed the trip for the most part but faced very hot weather making some railroad travel disagreeable compared with the comfort of the Union Pacific system.

The local Utah Daughters of Pioneers chapter gathered Wednesday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Mary Fernley for a meeting and social gathering.
The group features three top fretted instrument artists from Rue Tylers Rhythm Kids, the Dinos Twins for dancing and acrobatics, and Rue Tylers 60 piece banjo band. They have appeared in pictures and at the San Diego Exposition. Mr Tyler brings the act for two nights next week with music, dancing and stage acrobatics.
The August Panguitch meeting of the Associated Civic Clubs of Southern Utah opposed diverting the gasoline tax fund from highways and pledged to oppose any candidate not in favor of keeping the fund for road maintenance. President Frank G. Martines presided. discussions covered deer season opening, a Utah tuberculosis sanitarium, liquor law, and water and highway issues amid local disaster reports.
Farmers able to qualify for grants under revised agricultural conservation plans, with modifications allowing payments for seeding alfalfa clover and perennial grasses. County and state committees open additional signups, with local meetings in Milford Minersville Greenville Beaver. Eligible practices include new seedings and biennial annual legumes plus grass crops and related soil building efforts with specific per acre payments.
A group of Ives]teria Tans visited the Desart Range Experiment station last Sunday. They spent the day at the station and returned games with several local Ure boys.
The State Superintendent S. M. Wittner released a list of county teachers for Milford, Minersville, Belknap, Beaver High, and Beaver Sehoni schools. Names include Milford Grade School staff D. C. Hestington and J. Lee Anderson among others. Milford High School instructors such as E. R. Monily and J. M. Hughes. Minersville Oliver Graft and Karma Holt. Belknap Beavers and Mullen. Beaver High Sehoni roster features P. E. Beecher and Edwin Falea. Beavers list includes Margaret Thorman and DR. Pearce.
Harvesting and packing of the pod pea crop by the San Diego Fruit and Produce Company began last week. The 20th car is expected to be packed and shipped before week’s end. The crop this year is exceptionally good with few pests, according to supervisor Mr. Dyer.
Milford Future Farmers of America member Kiehaet Thunisup earned second place in a horse and mule judging contest at the Future Farmers convention in Logan Utah. Richard Thompson of Milford received a $15 prize and a congratulatory letter from Wayne Dinsmore, praising his all-around horsemanship.
A letter from Ok Ja. Whale states patients misread calls, clarifying that tests on samples from 40 Mowars sent to the State Board of Health in Salt Lake City did not identify typhoid infection. The author denies any quarantine order and notes Howard, once ill, has recovered long ago.
