A ruminator proposes to dream little and think less while scattering bouquets and savoring small joys. Ruane watches as sparks fly and the moment of action arrives with a hot shot.
A rambling Cedar City style column reports a man fleeing, notes on a Plymouth car test miles per gallon, a Cedar City Lions club meeting, misplacing graduates in headings, and Milford residents' views on regional events with local names and scenes.
Bud Williams and Jay Jeffers created eight posters by the high school art class. The eight posters on display in Milford Tailoring shop windows show skilled workmanship, but two posters were selected as best. The local organization thanks contestants and Miss Walker, the instructor, for their help.
Milford marked one of its finest school years as 24 graduates received diplomas at a well attended commencement. Dr. Harrison R. Merrill of Brigham Young University spoke on Americanism and the free school system. Medalists included Bernella Jones Janet Rollins and Charles William Tribole with additional honors to Ina Smith Garthe Banks Evelyn Hickman Sildona Jensen Irene Munford Thelma Thompson Monte D. Griffiths and others as noted.
Civilian Conservation Corps planners from Fort Douglas visited western Beaver County assessing Milford as a favored site for a new CCC camp under the Taylor act. They reviewed water supply and infrastructure with Milford officials, noting other inspected sites like Fouts place and Wah Wah springs while considering Back Rock then ruled out due to county lines.
The M. R. Gardner family left Friday for their Midvale home after a several day stay in Milford. Mr. Gardner expects to return soon to resume his engineering work on water development projects in the area.
Spike camp at Frisco returned to the main camp Monday May 27 leaving men blue at rejoin. A telephone line to Milford was completed aiding the Experiment station and camp though official use only. About half the men took four days leave starting last Wednesday night.
Evangelist Nor man Eckman challenged eternal hellfire as a path to salvation urging God’s love as the path to eternal life. He argued Hebrew sheol and Greek hades mean the grave, not a fiery hell, citing Jonah 2 1 2 and Acts 2 27 to support the point.
Lead prices rise to 4.85 cents a pound, the highest since 1993, with a week of gains totaling 54 points in ten days. American Smelting and Refining and St. Joseph Lead report heavy buying from battery, paint, and metal sectors while production stays ahead of demand and stocks fall to 221,655 tons by Q1 1935.
A speaker discusses the Greek term Gehenna and its use in Matthew 6 and 25 and Revelation 20, suggesting destruction of the wicked at the end of the millennium rather than everlasting torture. Jude 7 is cited as reference to Sodom and Gomorrah’s punishment. Continued on inner page.

Students discuss Dodo the potter, serapes, a hacienda sand table, Mexican pictures, and a cactus drawing while Blair Coon and Leno Aguilar share personal reflections and a Woodpecker incident.
A Boy Scout Court of Honor for Beaver county district, first in over two years, was held in Minersville. District Commissioner Wittner presided as the program, prepared by Scoutmaster Garland Hollings and local leaders, featured readings, duets, and speeches. Merit badges were awarded including animal husbandry to Raymon Easton and rank advancements from tenderfoot to second class for several scouts. The event drew 18 Milford Cub Scouts alongside the district troops.
Three new lieutenants join Company 1064 at the Desert Range Experiment station west of Milford as part of a broader mobilization under recent congressionally enlarged funding. H. H. Bibby Carl Wickerham and Gilbert Knapp arrive from New York Ohio and Salt Lake City. One may stay to replace Lieut. Earl Kingdon who moved to Pocatello. Einar Bergstrom returns from leave alongside Cyril Johnson as camp notes continue.
High school faculty hosted a tea for the Senior class and their parents on Tuesday afternoon after the program. Mrs J M Hughes and other committee members supervised the event. The room featured red and white decor with flowers, and several hosts poured tea for guests.
E R Moody will speak at a Sunday evening M I A program in the L D S chapel. Gertrude Fisher plays organ prelude, with hymns sung by a chorus and congregation. Principal Ferr Moody of Beaver High School delivers the address on youth and the new dispensation.
Milford gears up for the opening Dixie League game against St George at Milford Park as J Cass Root becomes business manager and D N Hickman takes playing manager duties. Parowan joins the league this year with Lions club sponsorship, while season tickets at 2.50 entitle the holder and family to home games.
Nineteen members gathered at Mrs Naomi Hughes home for an auxiliary meeting with business and social time. President Alice Jane Howen led discussions on officer elections, committee reports were shared, and farewell remarks given before a bridge game and luncheon. The next meeting is set for Monday afternoon June 10 at 2 20 at secretary Ethel Smith's home.
