Memorial Day honors Nurses National Memorial founder

Washington May 29 Special Memorial Day ceremonies were held to honor war nurses from the Spanish American War through World War II. Arthur H Johnson national chairman urged tribute to valiant women who faced dangers on the battlefield. The Nurses National Memorial seeks 2 million for a nurses home in Washington. Pennsylvania tops the roll with 32 nurses lost, followed by New York 24 and Massachusetts 19.

Elementary scenes from May school programs and hike

On May 23 Mrs Buri’e First grade hosted a Pioneer themed program with talks and pictures followed by songs and dances. On May 22 Mrs Griffiths Sixth grade hiked to Five Sure Dam with a long distance. On May 27 Sixth grade students attended a general ward assembly at the high school.

Weed Sprayer Ready for Use in County

The county weed spraying equipment is now in operation and available for farm and municipal use, announced by County Agent Glenn Baird. Ralph Fordham of Greenville is hired as weed supervisor, with rules requiring farmers to pay material costs while equipment and labor are provided at no charge. materials must be paid when the job is finished. New Telephony Operators Hired at Mountain States

Mrs. Berger announces two new telephony operators Jerry Lysvan and Marie Wren. Training to complete about the first of the month. Flight Inspector Harris from Salt Lake City won Milford student flight exams. Milford hosts twenty active light students with no failures to date. R D Whitney of the CAA Regional Office Los Angeles arrived for a two day communication inspection. Six planes from Salt Lake City Flight School stopped at Milford during a cross country morning. Students progress to soloing after navigation weather air regulations and dual cross country flight, then solo cross country.

Denver Brandon Leads Fox Crew to Kanab Film

Denver Brandon, a Tel operator from Kanalmo, states Twentieth Century Fox will push for a new feature in Kanab on June 20. The project titled The Green Hills of Wyoming aims to be a standout epic movie with Fox representatives directing.
