A group of 20 to 40 Salt Lake City business executives will tour Milford Sunday in cars. They arrive about 12 30 P M and depart at 2 30 P M. Milford Lions Club may host lunch if possible. Some local delegates return from a state convention at Milvale, affecting plans for guest arrangements.
Milford Pharmacy boosts staff to five with O. E. Peterson arriving to take over duties from Melvin Cowley who moved to Cedar City. Peterson brings twelve years in the trade. Helen Kinney joins the force along with Della Kirk Lela Morris and J M Kinney.
Members of the Service Star Legion honored Mrs. Annie J. Atkin at the Atkin Hotel as she retires after five years as president. Theresa Pitchforth succeeds her. The event featured music by Pitchforth and Fern Hickman and included toasts and a silver jewel case presentation to Mrs. Atkin.
A brisk two day sale touts seven Frigidaires sold as part of a limited time campaign. The effort highlights rapid purchases by local customers and emphasizes upbeat discounts and stock availability.

Orpheum manager Lorin Osbornannounces lower prices for talking pictures. Adults will pay thirty five cents on Thursday and Friday and forty cents on Sunday and Monday. Children’s prices drop accordingly. High grade films remain on schedule. Osborn also traveled to Salt Lake to discuss future lineups.
Ambrose Dalton leaves Sunday for Salt Lake. Mrs. Thomas Mathews return from Beaver after ten days. Lillian Carter and others come home from school in Wallace. Wallace Osborne visits Salt Lake City. Mrs. H. M. Mcquarrie and Gerald go to California. Boy Scouts head to Zion Canyon. Susan Roberts of Wyoming visits her children. Mrs. Ray Thomas and three sons return to Garfield. Stanley Fisher and son Phil motor to Garfield for a few days. Telluride Power adds seven Frigidaire nights in Milford homes. New owners of refrigeration include Milford Bakery Nels Johnson Harry Livergood Mrs Homer E Root G B R Wilcox Clarence Lewis and R W Jones.
The Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce publishes a mining booklet edited by Gail Martin. It notes Utah led in 1928 silver production and ranks high in copper zinc and gold, with Beaver county featured and ample illustrations for Utah mine history and prospects.
Miss Gwendolyn Smith presented eight piano students in recital at the Odd Fellows hall in Milford last Thursday evening. Max Parrish and Joe Jinney Jr aided vocalists Mrs. Betty Martin accompanied. Notables include Estelle Nebeker who won third in the School Day piano contest at Logan under Utah Agricultural College. The performance attracted a large, appreciative audience.
Milford awaits about forty special trains loaded with Shriners bound for the annual council in Los Angeles. Engines will be serviced here with fifteen minute stops, possibly longer. The Shrine band and drill teams will perform, and trains will route through Milford on the east bound return in early June.

The Field Artillery Unit of the National Guards in Beaver holds a benefit dance tonight at the Legion hall. Proceeds help cover incidental expenses for the two week encampment beginning June 1.
Public school faculty and county board members were guests of the American Legion and Legion Auxiliary at a high school gym dance last week.
Work crews remodel the aging taildrine shop on Main Street into a new Ford residence for Neilson and Son. Experts, led by Mr Kelley, expect about ten days to complete the overhaul. The thirty year old structures are being joined into a rounded domed front with stucco and large display windows.
About twenty Milford roundhouse employees will move to Caliente Union Pacific shops within thirty days. Leo Horton Earl and Harold Dewey depart immediately. Frank Farmer to Lund expected. Foremen offered few specifics as to further moves. local athletic club plans tennis court. Transfers reduce Milford shop strength to about two thirds. train crews and car department unaffected. Mining activity in Star district has risen, offsetting the loss socially.
The Allen Cash Stores place a system store in Nephi. Carter Brothers meat market and grocery of Nephi was purchased and placed under Aller management.
County graduation ceremonies were held across Beaver, Minersville, Milford, and Bedger high schools. Notable speakers included Ambrose Dalton and Miss Mildred Hardy with multiple awards such as the Barton andPool medals, and the valedictory and salutatory addresses delivered by Ambrose Dalton and Josephine White respectively.
The Social Hour club met at the clubhouse on Tuesday afternoon with hosts Mescimes O Leary and WMyss mans. They began layettes for the Red Cross and set plans for the sixth anniversary event to be held Wednesday. Miss Peck will lecture Friday afternoon May 24 at 3 00 P M. Mesdames Hanchett and Mobias will host the next session on Thursday June 6.
