Milford High School Baccalaureate Services Set for May 25

Milford High School will host baccalaureate services for twenty nine grades in the auditorium at 8 15 p m Sunday May 25. T Edgar Lyon of the University of Utah will address graduates with Miss Lucile Smith Lizst piano Liebestraume and John B Williams two vocal selections. Vena Wilson will give the invocation and Bishop George Goodwin the benediction. Milford High School Band will play on the lawn before services.

Milford Centennial Queen to attend Beaver County event

Milford to celebrate Centennial Day on June 25 with Governor Herbert Maw attending the Centennial Queen and retinue in Milford. The three day race meet follows, led by Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Gronning, featuring Homecoming, dances, and committees guiding advertising, stables, track, and race finish judges.

City to build tennis court and new jail facility

Beaver County may share in the cost of a new City Half-Fire Station Jail as city trustees discuss the building plans. Forty-Niner Celebration Shines Amid Parades and Floats

The twentieth American Legion Forty Niner celebration drew large crowds from morning to 4 a m. The Go West parade began at 245 under Thorpe Waddingham and was called one of the best Milford has seen. Hundreds of school children, Milford Boy Scouts, pioneer costumed marchers, and numerous merchant floats filled the parade view and streets.

Cold storage locker plant being built at Minersville

Horace Carter of Minersville in cooperation with Irving Lay to Centerville announces Tuesday the construction of a new cold storage plant at Minersville. The facility will store vegetables meat poultry and fish with experienced personnel for slaughter dressing and packing. It will use the latest design and be installed by a major freezer plant manufacturer.

Parkinsons Injured In Freak Car Backing Accident

Mr Walter Parkinson suffered a serious throat laceration and jaw fracture when backing his car from the garage the head became wedged between the car and the building. He received treatment at Milford Hospital and is reported recovering satisfactorily.
