Forty Niner Parade Halts Milford Shops Early Friday
Milford businesses will close at 2 p.m. Friday for the Forty-Niner parade and many won’t reopen until Saturday morning. Minersville Youth Drowns During School Outing
Funeral services were held for Melvin M Myers age 1 at the Minersville L D S Ward Chapel after he drowned at Monroe Hot Springs in Sevier county while on a Minersville school outing. A group of over 40 students led by Principal Mel Arthur Hansen and several adults searched the pool until his body was recovered. Medical aid and artificial respiration failed to revive him after more than two hours. The ceremony included prayers, hymns In the Garden and Beyond the Sunset, with graveside dedication by George Marshall in Minersville cemetery.
