Prospecting Winze and 1100 Level Drift Open New Ore Zone

The area being prospected in the winze will be set at once with a long cable for hoisting from the 2000 foot level. A carload of lumber and supplies has been shipped and sinking the shaft will resume from winter operations on the 1100 level. Drifting 250 feet from the 1100 level should place the bypass in the core of a promising zone near the Boston fissure. The ore is expected to yield 40 to 60 ounces of silver and 40 to 50 percent lead, suggesting a new, unexplored territory in Moscow. Company officials believe little dead work will be needed and the productive limestone beds dip toward the shaft, increasing the chance of hitting blanket ore bodies as depth increases.
