Beav er County 4-H Club Camp Planned for July Dates

Beaver County leaders council met May 1 at Minersville to approve a 4-H club camp tentatively set for July 14 15 and 16. Leland Smith chaired with Reva Alburecht Erma Bennett Thurman Eyre Betty Jenne Stone and Glenn Baird present. Milford Fire Dept answers two calls this week

The Milford Volunteer Fire Department logged two calls, one to LaMar Grimshaw's North Main home where a stove fire caused plaster and wall damage, and a false alarm at Milford Bakery. Neighbors aided Grimshaw. firefighters extinguished embers and preserved the rest. Damage estimated at $100.

Jeannette Colborn Rises to Second in Queen Contest

Jeannette Colborn climbs to second place in the Queen contest as supporters pour coins into her voting bottle at Jet Mere market in Salt Lake City. Beaver youth LEO DELL GRIFFITHS killed in mishap

Leo Dell Griffiths 15 son of Warren and Treva Griffiths of Beaver died instantly last Saturday when he fell from the rear of a pickup on a paved highway near Hellthap grade school during the noon recess at the Region Six music festival. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Beaver West Ward chapel with Bishop Wallace D Yardley officiating. He was born May 14 1931 in Beaver and attended Beaver High School. Survived by parents two sisters Vickie Lynn Geraldine DeVon and Larey Griffiths of Beaver four grandparents and many relatives. Burial at Mountain View cemetery.

Milford Top Music Rating At Beaver Meet

Milford High School Mixed Chorus entered the Beaver Music Festival as the largest group and earned a Division One rating in the Class A and B mixed chorus division. Judges tabulated scores and explained no overall winners were named in divisions two and three.

Firefighters Plan Large Spring Training Program Beaver County

Milford residents hosted a week of visits with relatives in Salt Lake City and nearby towns. Notable gatherings included Mr and Mrs Keel visiting their son in Salt Lake City, Dorothy Gamble vacationing in Kansas, and many locals renewing old friendships at family homes and church events. A baptismal service and a Nevada trip were announced, with several families traveling between Milford and Salt Lake City to attend church and social activities.
