Milford High School Honors Students Named for 1950

Three Milford High School seniors from the graduating class of 1950 are set for Class Night on January 15 in the high school auditorium. Honorees are Bonnie Tomsik Myers, Glen Casterline, and Donna Tolley, with diplomas presented at Commencement on May 19 under Principal Leland G. Rex. Dr. Joseph N. Symonds of Utah State Agricultural College will speak at Baccalaureate on May 14.

Judge Koch Hearings Include Milford Man Fined

Clark Englestead of Milford was fined 2.50 for driving without a license in Justice O C Kochs court. Mrs Dora Miller is Beaver County representative to the Palio Ladies Convention in Salt Lake City upcoming Monday. The two day event includes a luncheon hosted by Clarence Bamberger at the Alta Club.

Milford PTA installs officers for 1950 51

Mrs Antonette Uffens is named president for a second term alongside Ina Norton as vice president and Mandell Crane as secretary at the Mil ford High School gathering. William Ashworth acted as installing officer. Music students under David Watkins performed, and funds were turned over to the high school for a new auditorium curtain.

Milford High School completes Mil-Ford yearbook

The Milford annual Mil-Ford 1950 edition, 76 pages, features many student and staff photos and student life scenes. Printed in black on enameled paper with red border, bound in white padded cover with red embossing, printed by The Milford News in Cedar City. Books delivered to students Monday, May 15.

Intermountain Junior Live Stock Show Seeks Juniors

About $5 000 in premiums and possibly $150 000 from auction sales are planned for the Fourteenth Intermountain Junior Live Stock Show to be held in North Salt Lake June 7 8 and 9. The premium book is available via local FFA and 4 H instructors or by writing William D Backman Salt Lake City Utah. The show is sponsored by Utah state Davis and Salt Lake County Commissions and the Salt Lake City Chamber of Commerce and is open to FFA and 4 H members from Utah Nevada Wyoming Idaho and Montana with entries channeled through instructors for junior grown animals. All animals will be sold at auction in one of the largest junior sale events in the West.

Bradshaws Plan Move to Provo for Bonnie's Care

Roy and Norma Bradshaw will travel to Salt Lake by May 13 to have daughter Bonnie undergo surgery for infantile paralysis at Shrine Hospital. They intend to settle in Provo soon to be near the hospital for Bonnie’s ongoing special care.

Eight-year-old Rollins girl suffers skull fracture in fall

Mauri Rollins, 8, daughter of Keith and Mrs. Rollins of South Milford Iowa, is in Milford Hospital in good condition after suffering a compound skull fracture from a horse fall last Saturday. Her brother Bart, 5, and sister Kerril Sue, 7, also fell but were uninjured. Mrs. Rollins rushed Mauri to hospital for emergency care.

Milford Students Shine At Region Six Music Festival

Milford High School sent about 65 music students to the Region Six Music Festival in Hurricane on April 22. The Mixed Chorus earned a top No 1 rating, the band collected No 2 for contest numbers, No 2 plus for sight reading, and No 1 1 for marching. Judges from Provo High, BYU, Lincoln High, and American Fork High praised Milford, noting many younger students in the group. Other schools from Delta to Kanab also participated.

Mrs. Nannie Hoss of Salt Lake City has been a house guest of Mrs. Lemmah Boucher and enjoyed the Eastern Star visit with her Milford sisters.

Beav er Cemetery Mourns Milford Native Nephi Edwards

Nephi Edwards longtime Milford resident died at home Saturday April 29 at age 78. Born Greenville July 26 1870 he married Mary Jane Munford in 1892 and had ten children six survive. Funeral held at Milford LDS Chapel with burial in Mountain View Cemetery Beaver.
