Community Club Holds May Meeting and Farewell Party

SOUTH MILFORD The monthly Community club meeting is set for Saturday May 4 at the club house. A farewell party Thursday April 25 honored Mr. and Mrs. Horace Palmer and their son Junior who will move to Portland Oregon. Mrs. Fisher led games and a luncheon followed.

Minersville Sets May Play Amid Community News

The Mil ford senior class presents Adam and Eve, a three act comedy, at the high school auditorium Wednesday evening May 8 at 8. The cast features Joe Nelson Arnold Baxter Patra Young Beth Patterson Ruth Armstrong Ina Smith and Bill Tribole. Proceeds support the class trip after year end. Funeral services for Miss Frances F. E. Wood 35 will be Friday at 2 pm. She died suddenly at Milford hospital from blood poisoning. Surviving are parents two sisters and three brothers. Playground equipment at the local elementary school gains fresh paint and improved safety thanks to funds and local volunteers.

Civic Clubs Discuss Power Plans for Southern Utah

At Richfield on Sunday the Associated Civic Clubs of Southern Utah voted to launch a thorough study of bringing Boulder Dam power to southern Utah to spur local industry. A committee report due in 30 days will decide feasibility including transmission and rate competition with public utilities. The group also plans erosion control and reservoir projects, water improvements, and federal relief programs, with county commissions and governor engagement urged.
