U S Chamber To Host Own Good Will Tour

More than 100 Salt Lake City businessmen plan a goodwill caravan along U S 91 from May 3 through Utah and Nevada. Tour manager Weston Hamilton said the bus trek will stop at many communities for brief meetings, with daily breakfast, lunch, and dinner gatherings. In Milford Beaver and other towns they will provide entertainment and host local business leaders at dinner, expect to visit on May 3 arriving about 4 5. George Jefferson of Lions Clinic and Gordon Murdock of the Chamber will handle Milford reception duties.

Wilford Masons entertain Union Pacific Club

Milford Masons of Albert Pike Lodge No 14 hosted Masons from the Union Pacific Masonic Club, visiting from Los Angeles to Salt Lake. Milford PTA to Name Officers for 48 49

Milford Parent Teacher Association will elect officers for the 1948 49 year at its regular meeting next Monday March 20 at 4 oclock in the high school auditorium. Bruce Carden will give a talk and Jesse Lon Arthur Hansen and Denk Steinuck ert will present musical numbers in 20 sections.

Beaver County political groups held district meetings in Milford and Minersville as parties name committeemen and set dates for county and district conventions. Republicans call for county convention in Beaver April 12. Democrats plan Minersville convention April 24. Milford Republicans meet April 1 in Old Library Building. Milford Democrats reported low turnout in District 2. J S Murdock chairs Minersville Democrats with Jessie Myers as vice chairwoman. Truman Bradfield, Jank Pryor, Clinton Thompson named central committee. Delegates named include Murdock, Bradfield, Ralph Myers, and Thompson. Further Milford district plans await official announcements next week.

Wildlife Groups Plan Meeting in Milford

Mrs Martha Fotheringham Dies in Minersville

Martha Fotheringham died Sunday afternoon in Minersville after a lengthy illness. Born January 24, 1860, she lived in Minersville, active in the Relief Society and Lincoln camp. Survived by husband John Wothersingley and children, with many grandchildren in the area.

Minersville Boy Scouts win regional title in Provo

The Minersville Senior Scouts defeated American Folk Scouts 29 9 to win the National Parks Council Boy Scouts of America regional basketball championship after a three day tournament. Don Marshall led scoring with 12 points as the northern team beat American Fork to reach the finals and earn trophies and a ring. It is hoped they will play Salt Lake Council winners to decide the Rocky Mountain area title.
