Modena won a $100 bond for greatest per capita with 1744 cans from five students. Readings include a contest winner, a flag pledge, prayers, and performances by student groups. Notable participants include Nye Guy Wodilingham and the Legion event proceeds support the week’s activities.
Director Regs Leonard of the Utah Fish and Game Commission announced trapping and possible transplanting of antelopes from Daggett County and surrounding desert areas. About 600 animals are in Daggett’s herd, with plans to corral them using a one-half mile wing and aircraft, then move selected groups to Beaver and Iron counties.
