New Pastor of Church Arrives in Milford

The Reverend Joyce B. Webster and his wife and two sons arrived Friday from Ridgeway Colorado and occupy the parsonage of the Community Methodist Episcopal church. Mr Webster recently accepted the local pastorate and has pastored in Ridgeway Atwood and Kingsburg Colorado. He studied at Iliff School of Theology earning a master's degree in theology last June. He projects strong character and a western outlook likely to win favor with church and community.

Minersville Teachers Sponsor Adult Classes

The Minersville school faculties launched a six week adult education program three weeks ago. Four Thursday night classes run from 7 to 9 with a one hour recreation period led by Miss White. Courses include home decorating by Miss Carlsen and Miss Pletcher, agriculture by Mr. Graff, mathematics by Mr. Worthen and Mr. Pearson, and English by Miss Price.

Milford M Men tour of schools produces thriller win

Milford M Men beat Minersville M Men 91 to 29 in an exhibition game on Saturday night as fans witnessed a close first half and a decisive Milford run. The Minersville lineup featured former Utah champions and national contenders while Milford showcased players from the area. A later note reports Beaver County school board postponed its meeting to inspect local schools and discuss a potential budget cut of about 25 000 for 1993 34.

Milford Ward Reunion Promises Free Community Event

The Milford ward invites all town residents to a free community reunion with a 3:00 to 5:00 children’s party for under 14, dancing and refreshments, followed by a 7:30 program directed by Mr Hand and others, then dancing 9:00 to 12:00. Luncheon provided during both activities.

Milford and Delta high schools closed the league schedule in a top-spot tie with Milford routing Hinckley 25 12 at Hinckley and Delta defeating Millard Fillmore on their floor. A Cedar City state tournament qualifier looms Wednesday night amid high anticipation. Milford beat Minersville 27 24 in a close local game as Foster Morris hit key long shots to spark the comeback. THREE LADS IN TROUBLE

Three young offenders were apprehended by Marshal Kronholm for tampering with post office boxes. They were taken before County Attorney Harold Cline Wednesday for evidence review, with further action held in advisement until Thursday.

New Milford Service Club Formed by Ex- Service Members

A meeting of about 24 former service men at Milford library on March 4 established a permanent service club. Sponsored by Escalante Post VFW and Milford Post American Legion, the group aims to aid veteran welfare and legislation, especially hospitals and disabled veterans relief.

Milford still and equipment seized from Trenholm residence

A 20 gallon still and about 50 gallons of mash plus a homemade electric heater were seized by Sheriff Niels Jensen and Deputy Teddy Tronholm from Claude A. Trenholm in Milford Center Street residence. Trenholm was arrested and released on recognizance, later fled, with equipment held as evidence.
