Bob Crane, ex Milford High and College of Southern Utah star, is selected for the Korean Communications All Stars in a service basketball tournament in Japan March 1 to 12. Milford High Senior Class Play Comin' Roun the Mountain

After several postponements the Milford high school senior class play will be presented with a full cast next Friday March 11 in the Milford High auditorium. Directed by Jeane Long the production features a hillbilly family hoping to trade their daughter for a dowry while the lead falls for a foreigner amid a humorous rural setting. School to emphasize monthly topics on safety citizenship and conservation

Calien reports that all Clanes from kindergarten through sixth grade will teach units or engage in special activity projects focused on conservation. Monthly topics run from safety in January to good citizenship in February. Gold Medal Tourney Set for Next Week

Southern Utah basketball teams compete in the second annual Gold Medal Basketball Tournament in Milford high gym next Tuesday through Thursday March 8 10. Two Milford teams Cedar City entrants along with Minersville Beaver Fillmore and Escalante vie for four trophies and six individual honors to be awarded after play. Games start 6 p.m. each night with four contests the first two nights and three on Thursday. Trophies and awards are displayed at the J Penney store in Millard.

Barbara Rowley Named Homemaker of Tomorrow

Milford high school senior Barbara Tanner Rowley was named Milford's Homemaker of Tomorrow after top marks in a senior home economics exam. She advances to a national competition for the title and could win a $8000 scholarship with her adviser Mrs LaRetta Myers guiding her to Washington, D C and Philadelphia.

County 4-H Clubs to Be Feted Next Week

Beaver County 4-H members are urged to observe National 4-H Club Week March 5 13 and plan their 1955 club work. There are 190 Beaver County 4 H Club members with goal to exceed 200 in 1955. Nationwide 4 H enrollment reaches about two million in the U S. Boys and girls ages 10 to 21 can join by contacting Beaver County Agent Grant Esplin or community leaders.

A meeting for all potato growers will be held in the South Milford Clubhouse on Thursday March 10 at 10 am. Golden Stoker secretary of the Utah Crop Improvement Association and Dr. George F Knowlton Extension Entomologist from USAC Logan will discuss potato diseases and the potato tuber moth and control. Milford PTA program features local student performances

The Milford Parent Teacher Association hosted its February program in the high school auditorium on Monday February 28. Student numbers were presented by both high school and grade students. Performances included a mixed quartet a song and dance routine a piano solo a reading and a final song. A movie about cancer titled One in a Thousand was shown after cookies and punch.
