Local mill to start shipping of copper concentrates
Metal Producers mill west of Milford to begin shipping copper concentrates Saturday June 17. Superintendent C Peacock said the plant will run 24 hours a day if needed, producing about 30 percent concentrate with 75 percent extraction from oxidized copper ore from the old OK dumps. The mill, built in 1948 for Horn Silver ores, was refreshed after closing and will ship two cars weekly once current stock is milled, then commence open pit mining of copper ore.
