Benefit Play Supports Local Junior League Team

The American Legion sponsors a junior league team led by J. Cass Root as demand for goodwill shows through a benefit performance on Monday night. Tickets are encouraged, with extras for those who cannot afford them. Postmaster Dr L A Culmsee Dies After Stroke

Dr L A Culmsee Nad a postmaster dies after a stroke at his home in Nada Milford area. Funeral held Wednesday at the M church with Rev Lavily Betts speaking and D C Heastington addressing the Milford elementary school. Interment at Provo. Born in Copenhagen July 21, 188? he came to Iowa at age 10 and earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa. He married Clara Hansen of St Anselm Iowa. surviving a daughter Miss Hvan Case of San Francisco a son Carlton Culmew of Provo and a foster daughter Corinne Deblay of North Cove Washington. He moved to Utah for health reasons and became a well liked figure in the community fading with neighbors and friends.

Petition drives for dental group practice advertising

Thirty thousand signatures collected to file initiative petitions in twenty counties under the Peoples' Dental League. Secretary Mrs. W. S. Withers says advertising group practices can exist at dental prices, but fixed price advertising is barred. The league aims to make good dentistry affordable while staying nonpartisan and independent of political movements.

Election Meetings Held in Minersville Milford Beaver

Agricultural conservation meetings are being held this week in Minersville Milford and Beaver to elect district com mitteemen who will join the permanent county committees. The temporary committee, appointed by the state director of extension work, aims to carry on community educational and section meetings and organize the association. Eligible voters include those interested in the program even if they lack prior work, and grants under the agricultural conservation program will make members. The state agricultural conservators committee announces the final notice for fifty work sheets.

Miss Pom Shipley of Preston Utah Stam Agricultural college graduate has been appointed classinant state by the college trustees. She will assist 9 P Murray state leader in programs for more than 6000 rural boys and girls in the state. Shipley was home economics club president Phi Upsilon Omicron secretary and scholarship winner. She taught home economics at South Summit high school and later managed district Utah Power and Light in Preston before her appointment.

Scholarships Awarded By ACU in Utah State College Grants

Whivers of the scholarship awards at Utah State Agricultural College were chosen by C. Lester Powell, chairman. Scholarships total 25 dollars for high school students and 50 dollars for junior college students, applied as partial payment at the state college. Milford Soldier Leonard A. Clements Buried With Military Honors

Leonard A. Clements 18, Milford native, killed in a car crash near Bountiful last Tuesday. His funeral at L D S chapel featured military honors from local American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, with speakers Bishop E F Bird and Principal B R Moody, high school chorus, two musical numbers, and flower girls. Survivors include his parents, sisters and brothers scattered in Magna, Milford, Caliente, and one in Nevada.

Milford Opens Free Swimming With Season Kickoff

Milford municipal pool debuts Sunday with free swims all day under manager LaVar Voorhees. He renovated the facility, fixed leaks, bought new suits and equipment, and expects high summer use. Daily help from 10 am to noon will assist beginners five years old and up in basic swimming.

Olsen will attend a convention of educational advisers in Lebanon next week. The camp baseball team plans a game at Heaver against Cedar City camp despite limited practice. Lt Wallice Hy Morris, aged, is improving. Porters Bramagen and John Williams assist Thomas Huebert with range work at Beaver.
