Milford Observes Pioneer Day With Air Race Parade
Milford held a large Pioneer Day celebration headlined by an international air race display. The parade featured floats by the Relief Society and Milford Volunteer Fire Department, Miss Utah and Miss America costumes, and a Spirit of 1847 impersonation. A ball game against Richfield, races, a water fight, and a late dance at Urion Hall followed a day of speeches, music, and a red airplane stunt piloted by Salt Lake firm flyers.

Mrs A Smithson Kesler of Milford won the five dollar prize for best song with words and melody suitable for Milford. The winning entry was When Its Springtime in the Rockies with parts of My Little Gray Home in the West also eligible. Runners up were Isabelle Ruby Owen Beaver with Land of Hope and Glory and Mrs J A Raines Milford with Lonesome Valley. Part of the winning song will be used in The Gold Coast Limited march dedicated to Carl M Gray.

Milford Volunteer Fire Department Demonstrates Efficiency
The Milford Volunteer Fire Department responded to a shed fire behind the Singleton home early Saturday. Eighteen of twenty firemen rushed to the scene, and the blaze was extinguished by 2 20 a.m. despite the early hour.

Flower Show Plans Advance From South Milford Group
The Flower Show committee submitted its plans for a forthcoming event in five divisions including Potted plants Bouquets Cut flowers Wild Flowers and Single Flower display. Milford Athletes Sweep Unit Meet Honors in Los Angeles
Milford Athletic Club scorers Ray Banks and Joe Betridge led at the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Unit Meet held at Knickerbocker Field. Banks captured two sprints and contributed to relay wins earning him 16 and a half points, while Betridge swept jumps and placed in the pole vault. Barnes topped the shooting scores, securing high score in large bore and fifth in small bore, earning a Boise trip to the Union Pacific System Meet.

The Seeds Hour Club of South Milford met at the club house with Mrs. Joseph Hickman and Mrs. Myron Hunchett hosting. Milford defeated Richfield 18 to 16 in a high scoring contest on Pioneer Day. Ellis had four hits for Richfield, Livergood hit a home run for Milford, and Thiessen hurled well after a rough start. Tunney Retains Title With 11th Round KO Of Heeney
