Key sessions are set for Friday and Saturday morning, with auxiliary activities concentrated Thursday and Friday morning.
The 1933 to 1936 records show the road commission pledged £40000 for road work with about $20000 spent near Nephi and $15000 near Leamington. At an August 1934 Nephi Civic Clubs meeting with Governor and Preston G. Peterson present, a $56000 allocation for that year was claimed. In 1936 about $7000 of gasoline tax money was spent. This spring the commission pledged to remove bad curves and do other work, but no funds were appropriated. The association urged fulfillment of promises. Milford experienced a week of extreme heat with 102 degrees the peak on Wednesday. Temperature readings from the Airways Radio station, via George S Morris, show daily highs from 94 to 101 and nightly lows from 4 to 59, with Wednesday night remaining unusually warm.
Lake Mead now a little over half full with 16 280 000 acre feet in storage. The reservoir formed by Boulder Dam on the Colorado River near the Arizona Nevada border began filling in 1935. It already reaches 458 feet depth and extends 108 miles upstream with tourism growth and flood control benefits noted.
Mining men H. H. Roe and Earl T. Neiman are spending Thursday in Milford area inspecting local mining properties. The schedule includes Subscribe-Don’t Borrowings trips, sight seeing in the afternoons, and the annual drum and bugle corps contest on Saturday.
