Milford Selected for Pioneer Day Radio Control Station
Milford in southern Utah was chosen by the Commerce Airways Division as the location for a test observation station between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. Gen. D Burz recommended Milford to Washington, with official approval. Two acres were secured from De Bybee, an alternate site may also be named. A 225 foot tower will be built, three radio operators will be stationed, and 15 workers will join the construction. The project aims to support airplane commerce over 500 miles and link with the line from Salt Lake to Las Vegas via Las Verne. Tragedy Takes Away Young Life At Milford Family Note
