Minersville Scouts Show Rapid Progress Under Leader Hollingshead
Minersville Troop 326 Boy Scouts of America has 27 registered scouts under Scoutmaster Garland Hollingshead. Five are first class Royle Woods Jimmy Sherwood Bert Craw Neil Rhenstrom and Jay Banks. They undertook a week at Duck Creek camp with 23 scouts and four earning advancements. Plans exist for a trip to Kents Lake. The troop committee includes C. K. Jameson chair and T. W. Rollins Bishop George Marshall P. S. Worthen and Oliver Graff. Hollingshead, a BA C graduate of 1934, is credited with the troop’s notable gains and heavy involvement with local teaching duties.

Last Civil War Veteran Jesse Stephenson Dies in Utah
The last surviving Civil War veteran in southern Utah, Jesse P. Stephenson of Nada, died Thursday night after a Monday stroke. He was about 90, resident in Beaver County since 1920, survived by two sons Anthony and Oscar and daughter Mrs. Fred Huennl of Muncie Indiana. Funeral set for Sunday at Milford L D S chapel with military honors, interment in local cemetery before eventual removal to West Virginia.
