Metal Producers to Construct Mill to Work Low-Grade Ores

Four local Minersville youths are critically injured in a Bryce Canyon auto accident. Reports list severe head injuries, possible skull fractures, and other wounds among the seven occupants, with Miss Reeves of Cedar City sustaining a broken back. The crash occurred at the Y between Panguitah and Bryce Canyon as the car went off the embankment. all were taken to Panguitch hospital in serious condition.

Five Drunks Fined in Milford Court Amid Resignation Gap

Milford Justice Court revived under Justice Koch as five drunken disorderly cases were heard. Marshals Williams Smith James Salvan Brancon convicted and fined $10 each. Salvan jailed briefly. Angel Nevares, fined $10 or five days, escaped custody to obtain funds from Union Pacific and remains a fugitive.

Prizes Must Be Redeemed by Monday at Race Meet

Warrant holders of free gifts won in the program prize drawings at the race meet must cash them by Monday, July 21, or they will not be honored. Secretary Vance Fisher notes prizes were won during interrace drawings and many winners have not yet claimed. Race meet books close at 5 p.m. Monday and uncashed merchandise tickets will be forfeited.

Utah Centennial celebra tion reaches climax with two days

Utah plans two major climax days for its centennial celebration in Salt Lake City. A pageant opened on Main Street with daily 12 15 and 5 p.m. performances. July 21 1 9 features an archaic parade and pavilions, July 24 Pioneer Day events include Sunrise Services ceremonies dedications and two big parades. The schedule highlights include Promised Valley pageant, a Tabernacle concert, and the This Is the Place monument dedication.

400 Ton Processing Plant to Begin Operation This Fall

The Metal Producers Company plans preliminary construction next week on a 400 ton mill at the Horn Silver mine in Western Beaver County to mill low grade copper lead and zinc ores. Construction will advance to full mill erection in September with concentrates expected by early winter. The Milford operation will also add a new shaft supplementing current output and the surface plant will be expanded with modern tipples conveyors and electrical equipment while underground safety and timbering are upgraded.

Beaver Pioneer Dies at 82 in Beaver

James Albert Nowers 82 died at the family home Tuesday after a short illness. Born November 29, 1863 at Beaver to Wilson Gates and Sarah Anderson Nowers, he married Ella May Wiley in Circleville on December 5, 1894. Surviving are widow Ila May Nowers five sons and daughters and several grandchildren. Funeral services set for Friday at 2 p.m. from the Beaver West Ward Chapel.

Softball Lights to Glow Friday All-Stars Meet Penney Club

Softball lights will glow Friday at the park for a free admission game between the 19am campionship club J C Penney and an AllStar team. Vance Fisher, Penney Squad manager, announced the event. Little interest has been shown in softball this year but officials expect future play to revive interest akin to last fall pennant drive. Chitaftowt games are planned between two local squads and Cedar City representatives on a home schedule.

Statewide Centennial Events in Salt Lake City and Ogden

A catalog of centennial activities across Utah including expositions at the State Fair Grounds Salt Lake City parades in Ogden and Salt Lake feature pageants plaques dedication and sunrise services. Beaver County 4-H Camps At Kent Lake Campout Highlights

Beaver County 4-H Club campers, 225 members plus parents and leaders, enjoyed the Beaver County 4-H Camp at Kent Lake in the Beaver Mountains. The week featured campfire programs, an Indian story, a quiz with Utah Centennial themed questions, flag ceremony, scavenger hunts, crafts for girls, rope halters for boys, a ball game between Beaver and Minersville, and awards for cleanest camp and runner up.

Word reached Milford this week of the death of Clyde Casterline of Dilton Montana, former Milford resident, the one year old son killed in an accident. Clyde Casterline was a Railway Express agent at Milford for several years.
