Both were taken to Milford hospital. White remained unconscious for a long period but is improving. The car was described as nearly new and totaled after the 75 mile per hour crash.
Milford wins 18 5 at home against Delta after an 18 8 loss three weeks earlier. Root, the playing manager, praises a devoted, cohesive team. Gardner pitched four innings, Coleman relieved to limit Delta to three runs as Milford hitters powered the score.
Mr and Mrs Rudolph Nielgen returned home last Thursday after spending several days visiting upstate.
Beaver Chamber of Commerce hosts the Associated Civic Clubs meeting with executive and public sessions at Beaver High School. A banquet, dance, and Sunday tour of local attractions including the creamery and fish hatchery are planned, with a caravan through Beaver canyon to nearby lakes. A nine year old Barton boy from Greenville was dragged by a horse after stepping on a rope tied to the animal. He suffered serious injuries but was brought to Milford hospital where doctors report his condition as favorable.
Parsons and Mrs and the baby returned home from Logan last week after Mr Parsons attended a course of summer work for ad teachers.
Milford residents are asked to avoid fishing at Kents Lake due to muddy-tasting fish from high irrigation water flow. Officials expect conditions to improve by mid August, allowing anglers to enjoy a late season catch.
Ballots are being mailed to 14 Utah railway brotherhood members as national talks in Washington continue over wage demands. The vote, due to be tallied July 26, follows a July 2 resolution pushing a 20 cent per hour blanket raise, full-time pay for regulars, and two thirds pay for standby workers. A new round of negotiations in Washington resumed with Salt Lake’s A Brinker citing the progress.
Robert T. Coe, 47, longtime railroad worker and Milford figure, died of a heart attack Tuesday at Delta. Born January 12, 1890 in New Madrid Missouri he moved to Utah in 1909 and farmed in Holbrook Taisho before marrying Dessie Gleason in 1915. He had lived in Salt Lake City since. Surviving are his widow a son R T Coe Jr a daughter Dessa Mona Coe a brother Reed Coe California a half brother George Smith Granteville and step father John S Smith Granger.
The CMTC trainees spend Sunday in camp with varied activities. They may read, write letters, or clean tents before church services and a noon dinner. Musical bands form from tents with radios and instruments, while some boys visit friends in East Lake City and others attend church or improve rest during rest periods.
Ardon Bussinger reports Mil ford CCC notes with details of a fifty five woman visit, dinner, and camp inspection. Captain Woolums toured Salt Lake City to make purchases. Enrollees from Leeie sae arrive, one undergoes splenitic surgery, and about twenty from Company 2080 join the July fourth parade in Milford. A CCC paper in Washington shows Romeo Rodgers and Captain Jackson conducts a regular inspection.
Milford unit of the United Prosperity Plan elected eleven of twelve board governors during a Wednesday meeting. New members include Mr and Mrs A M Potheringham, Mr and Mrs Wayne Lyman, Mr and Mrs Sorace M Corbridge, Dan James, Jon Workman, W E Dryden, Lester Williams, T J Williams, and Miss Louise Wilson as cashier-secretary. Mrs Fotheringham will chair the board. Gladys Green, state director of public relations, attended and spoke. Isom Lamb, former Parowan head of the national group, promised to visit soon.
Milford six Scouts return from the national jamboree in Washington. Led by John Yack as Scoutmaster, the group includes Jay Jeffers Douglas Moore Thorpe Waddingham Douglas Ryan George Connell and Richard Burnes. They arrive tired yet glad to be home and praise the trip's meaning.
