Moron Myers Pioneer Dies At 89 In Minersville
Moron Myers longtime Minersville resident died Sunday at his home after an illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Minersville LODS Chapel for 88 year old Myers born in Beaver in 1866. He married Harriet Bradshaw in 1887 and leaves a widow, seven daughters, three sons, 54 grandchildren, 101 great grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren. Burial was in Minersville Cemetery. The Milford Second Ward plans a full day of July 24 activities with a parade, church program, foot races, relay, free swim, horse races, softball, fireworks and a fireworks fund drive.

Parents Urged to Protect Children from Animal Bites
Dr J F Palmer state health officer warns every animal bite is a potentially lethal wound needing emergency treatment. Aimed at reducing dog and bat bites, the program also warns parents about other play hazards and urges vigilance during summer. Children should report bites and see a physician immediately to identify the animal for quarantine. Rabies deaths often involve children, and most Pasteur treatment recipients are minors.

The Milford News starts gathering material for an August 14 Scenic Edition featuring Beaver County recreation, agriculture, industry, dairying, mining, hunting and fishing. A major feature will be Your Guide with maps and tour descriptions. About 6,000 copies will be distributed by mail and at tourist spots from St George to Nephi along Highway 89 and Ely. Beaver County residents are invited to submit photos for publication.

Injured Boy Ran Afoul of Empty Shell
Mack Easton son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Easton of Mesquite New Mexico was injured by an empty 22 shell last Friday. He reportedly held a lit match to the shell causing the cap to explode and the empty case struck his abdomen. He received treatment at St George Hospital and was released Sunday.
