Martha Jane Armstrong dies in California at age about 70 after a long illness. A Milford resident since 1880 she ran a boarding house and led mining era social life, active in the Methodist church and Milford Rebecca lodge. Funeral services will be in Salt Lake City with burial beside her husband at Mount Olivet. Rev Donald Blackstock to speak. Survivors include a Milford nephew Dowell Smyth a California grand-niece Hinnie Hardy Stich a Marysville stepdaughter Katherine Irwin and other relatives.
An estimated £483,000 will fund repairs and improvements to homes in Teaver omiints, including painting, plumbing, and replacement of worn equipment. Major subcontractors will supply materials as the committee advocates year long home improvement programs.

Foot races spanned ages, bicycle races drew crowds, a soapbox derby-like event followed, and a free 2 pm show at the Firmage Theater featured comedies, cartoons, and family pictures. Free candy gum and balloons went to all, with dancing on Legum’s open-air pavilion to Al Kirk’s records until dark.
In the afternoon they were summoned to the rear of the Firmage building beside the Horn Silver hotel to extinguish a rubbish fire. Firefighters rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control without reported injuries or damages.
The American Legion staged Minersville Fourth of July activities led by Marshall Williams. A parade featured floats, the Blue Ribbon Four club winning best float, with prizes going to Pryor and Marshall entries. Afternoon races, boxing exhibition by Arshall Evans and son, and horse racing closed the day. Nearby residents attended funerals and visited relatives while local businesses added two new telephones.
County Agent Grant Esplin organized the Beaver County three day encampment at Kent's Lake with about 175 county club boys and girls expected to participate. Fern Shippley will assist in council meetings campfire programs nature study plant identification contests handicraft sports and log sawing contests. The public is invited to the campfire program Friday at 7 00 p m. Deeds recorded list several transfers in Beaver and Milford towns and surrounding townships with properties and mining claims changing hands between June 3 and June 30.

The Young Farmers of South Milford meet at the Community Club house and agree to adopt Delta Hay prices of 20 dollars per ton in the field 22 delivered to machine 25 baled and 27 baled and piled. They urge all area farmers to follow the schedule for uniform pricing. Artificial insemination will be introduced in Milford cattle late July or early August.
