Building activity to begin for AT T station and radio control post

AT T has optioned land near D A Baxter residence to build a switching station with Telluride Power supplying 25 hp of electricity. Milford will receive 23 car loads of material and 3 to 4 operators are expected. Work starts when weather allows and a U S government radio control station for airplanes is planned to be built by June as part of the Salt Lake Los Angeles line with about 40 local wiremen.

Legion and Ladies Dance Night at Odd Fellows Hall

On Thursday evening February 6 the American Legion and Women's Auxiliary plan a dancing party after their meetings in the Odd Fellows Hall. Many new members have joined both groups and ceremonies are planned before the social portion. The Milford Orchestra will perform a five piece set and a midnight lunch will be served.

Al Kirk Trades For Arion Hall

Al Kirk takes ownership of the Arion dance hall in Milford with a Saturday dance by the Milford Volunteer Fire Department and orchestra. He recently traded his Milford residence and other property for the Arion with possession set for February 1.

A large attendance gathered at the ward chapel for a L D S reunion Monday evening. The program featured an address of welcome, musical numbers by local performers, a grand march and luncheon. Visitors from Beaver spoke and the Milford Orchestra provided music for dancing to close the event.

Rumors of County Seat Change Reach Cedar City

Iron County Record reports talk of petitioning to move the county seat from Parowan to Cedar City. A committee is drafting procedures and will report to the Chamber of Commerce at its next Monday meeting. Public confirmation of Chamber sponsorship is not stated.
