Milford officials remind dog owners of a February 1 deadline for 1951 dog licenses. Police will cite unlicensed dogs and owners must appear in Justice Court to explain license failures to Judge Koel.
Local items note Kig Pale Mrs. Howard Palew arriving in San Diego for boot training after enlisting in the US Navy. Jona Jinjencz and two children visited NIN and Mrs. A L Jorgenson in Pico. Allene Jefferson left for Berthoud after her grandmother’s death. Jack Boole and others attended the funeral.
The Mothers' March returns to Milford and Minersville with door to door fund raising for polio. The Saturday events include a Birthday Ball in Legion Hall, an Odd Fellows sponsored bingo game, and a minstrel show by ESA sorority showcasing local dance and song with comedy.

The Hoover Commission found about 4700 forms or questionnaires imposed on citizens and businesses with costs in the hundreds of millions annually. It noted duplication across agencies, unused records, and 938000 income taxpayers filing notes for no report. The nation creates 25 billion papers yearly, enough to stretch earth to the moon 13 times.

Mrs. Ed Anderson will chair Milford's 1956 Heart Fund campaign running February 1 through 29. Dr. Drew M Petersen of the Utah Heart Association announced the goal of $50,000 and noted Utah's strong focus on heart research. Seventy five percent of Utah contributions stay for local programs and the remainder supports nationwide effort.
Obituary notices report the death of C. M. Wilton of Milford and the passing of Charlotte Naylor Wood Gray in Richfield. Wilton, longtime pastor Rev. Wilton, buried at College Hill Cemetery Lebanon Illinois, with family and friends. Gray, LDS teacher and church worker, dies at Richfield Hospital. funeral held in Minersville LDS Chapel with multi-s speaker tributes and burial at Minersville Cemetery.
Beaver launches centennial events with February 4 opening during quarterly LD'S conference. Centennial Queen and attendants to be crowned at 7 30 p m February 5. February 6 features school programs and a free dinner for adults. Special guests include former mayors and university leaders.
Milford's Tigers travel to Fillmore for their third league game this season. They have losses to Parowah and Beaver, while Fillmore beat Delta and lost to Parowan.
Recent patients at Beaver County Hospital include a first child daughter born to Mr. and Mrs. Clark Hutchings, and multiple admissions from Jan 19 to 25. Names include Mrs. Anne Denny, the Cook family child, Max Carter of Minersville, Stew Clements, Kristin Lish, Brent McCulley, Ginger Penfield, Shirl Nichols, and Mrs. Marvel Connell.
The outgoing seminary student body officers hosted a party last Saturday. A Junior Seminary party is planned for Saturday January 26 in the church recreation hall with a fit and dancing to follow. The new student body officers are drafting entertainment plans with Gayle Edwards directing arrangements. Church History class officers include Jenny Smith and Ted Bradshaw with counselors across Old and New Testaments. Junior Seminary officers are listed for eighth and seventh grades. The LDS Second Ward program featured talks by Ted Bradshaw Carlene Gronning Doug Memmett and Jenny Smith. Musical selections included Lynnette Bracken and a trio led by Darma Marion and Larry Lofthouse. The group will conduct services in the First Ward on January 28. Seminary Sweetheart Ball is scheduled for February 10 with a Junior Sweetheart Ball on February 17.
