Former resident dies of leukemia in California

Mrs Thi Kinney, lifelong resident of Grownville and Milford, died in California on Friday January 17 after years of leukemia treatment at Pacific Coast hospitals. Born December 4, 1894 to Whenezer and Sarah Richards Tanner, she married Joseph M. Kinney in 1912 and lived in Milford before moving to California in 1916. Surviving are three children Helen Harris of Eureka, Adely Marine of Town, and Kinsey of Washington, four brothers Stanley, Wilford, Howard, Clyde Tanner, sisters Thelia Keyte and Trene Stanwarts, all in California, plus other relatives.

Milford Legion Ladies Sponsor Essay Contest At School

Milford Needs Fire Protection

A survey of Milford business houses conducted early this week by Fire Chief Lyd Williams found a severe shortage of fire extinguishers. The Anatomy One Hotel had two extinguishers stored in a janitor’s closet, while no extinguishers were found in the other hotel or any rooming houses. Eleven business houses were equipped with extinguishers.
