Septuagenarians received licenses to wed in a late 1955 ceremony recorded by County Clerk W A Miller. The couple Charley Zahrisile and Mary Fisher of Mineraville, ages in their seventies, are longtime respected county residents. Mrs Zabrickie is the mother of B Fisher, Milford dairy man and county school board member.
H M Hearn was sworn in as president and George Litchfield H V Carlson W B Gardner and D B Stapley as trustees. They qualified by signing bonds and oaths Monday noon. The first January meeting occurred Jan 2 with the old board in charge. The new board plans to hold next meeting Jan 16 to set appointments. Stapley may move to Beaver to handle the Bowman property but will not resign immediately.
Harry Hearn new Milford Town Board president says he will attend the Veterans of Foreign Wars dance lunch and raffle at Avion hall on January 16. He will serve as judge for the six blanket drawing. Lunches from attending ladies will be auctioned to high bidders then served at the opera house with free coffee.
Eighteen Milford High School agriculture students plus instructor La Vell Parsons travel by bus to an upcoming livestock show with entries planned in the Hivestock and poultry divisions. The group will stop at two towns en route and aims to compete in their first show of the season.
Ike N. Taylor, 24, of Calhoun McLean County Kentucky, a CCC enrollee since October 23 1935, died January 1 in Milford hospital from lobar pneumonia after thirteen days after illness began December 19. He was well liked and his remains were shipped home for burial. Camp staff changes included discharges for Oscar Dye and Franklin Jenkins, and Lt Bergstrom and Captain Walker leaving for training or courses.
Milford Lions Club pledged support and cooperation for Milford High School basketball, aiming to boost athletic unity and victories. Members plan to accompany the team to the Friday league opener in Fillmore, while others will attend upcoming away games.

Milford and Cedar City units of the American Legion Auxiliary in Utah earned national citations for outstanding community service in 1935. Mrs. Rebholz will present the honors at the district 7 convention in Heber City on January 6 and 7. The department also received the Murray Membership trophy for highest membership growth, while Milford leader Mrs Rudolph Nielsen is highlighted for her work with the unit.
