Milford Poultry Association votes to elect a delegate at its January 11 meeting in South Milford to attend the Utah Poultry Producers Cooperative convention in Salt Lake City January 19 to 21. Sessions cover turkey egg and chicken topics with leaders including Joseph Anderson Clyde Edmonds and Benjamin Brown among presenters.

Dairymen Install New Equipment for Increased Business

South Milford dairymen have added DeLaval milkers to their farms. Sales were made to J. G. Weber Walter Weber LeRoy Luken F Bishop Dick Johnson South Milford and Sim Murdock Minersville as evidence of strong faith in the valley dairy industry and the push to modernize operations.

Milford Lions Club hosts Cedar City guests at luncheon

Milford Lions Club welcomed Cedar City visitors including Ben S. Lemmon of Los Angeles and Lions Riddle Shoppy Lunt and Urie. They urged Cedar City Lions to sponsor a Cedar City club and attend a charter meeting next month.

Liquor Sentence Suspended for Work by Pryor

William Pryor faced a fifty dollar fine or thirty days in city jail for intoxication last week. He could not pay and served seven days before release after earning credit for city work. Carl Roberts serves thirty days on the same charge, currently hauling wood.

Beav er County Dairymen Favor Limited Grain Ration

Beaver County dairymen report lower butterfat cost with a limited grain ration while cattle fed roughage stay healthy and productive. Surveys and U S Bureau studies show about one pound of grain per six pounds of milk, with slight variation by milk fat content. Minersville Women News In Milford Hospital Release And Births

Mrs. James Dotson of Minersville, who suffered a severe scalp injury in a car wreck near Scipio weeks ago, was released from Milford Hospital last week. Mrs. A. H. Robinson returned to Black Rock with a new baby girl. Mrs. LaMar Bohn of Minersville became mother of a ten and a half pound baby boy born last Friday.

Coldest December on record shocks Milford residents

Milford weather observer Charles Beard reports December was the coldest and driest month on record for the area with 10 consecutive below zero days beginning December 20 and only 1.4 inches of snow yielding 0.15 inches of precipitation. January offers no certain relief as forecasts remain uncertain.

Court Schedule Revised for Fifth Judicial District

The Fifth Judicial District lists terms and law and motion days for Washington County Iron County Beaver Millard and Fuah counties. Terms run from February to December with specified dates for first second third and fourth terms and law and motion days.

Less Marriages More Divorces In Beaver County 1930

Beaver County records show 38 marriage licenses issued in 1930, down from 58 in 1929, while divorces nearly tripled from five to fourteen. The year also saw 65 civil cases and 15 criminal actions in district court, with six dismissed, three placed on probation, one penitentiary, one county jail, and four pending. Nineteen probate cases were handled.

Milford High School begins winter term with rising enrollment

Five new students joined Milford High School as the winter term started bringing the combined high and junior high enrollment to 173. Chorus remains the largest class with 166 students, social science 48, algebra 43, and chemistry 32. The Tiger staff reorganized, and a Friday assembly program is planned with Miss Wanda Garrett directing. The first league basketball game hosts Fillmore.

Copies of Bills To Milford Library

Representative W. C. Cates says copies of all bills introduced in the house during the present session will be sent to the Milford Beaver and Minersville libraries.
