An December 27 order from train master R. F. Truex directs crews to service engines one at a time to avoid blocking Milford's highway outlet. The Milford News condemns the policy as limiting criticism and asks Union Pacific officials to allow longer passenger trains to pass unblocked while service is performed.
The News office welcomed Young Dave Williams son of a former owner on terminal leave from the Army Air Corps. He spent several days in Milford visiting old friends and sharing updates with editor David. Captain Williams, noted for missions in Europe, plans to remain in the Army to complete bomber pilot training.
Telluride Power Company signals willingness to rehabilitate and assume operation of farmer owned lines near Milford at its own expense as part of a system program. Col M L McCreary said the policy to employ wounded men across 103 job categories will continue into the new year. Veterans welcomed earned wages and regular salary, proving themselves reliable soldiers as government pensions suspend during reenlistment.
Parowan District Commander Hatch will preside at Milford Legion initiation at the regular meeting in the Odd Fellows hall next Monday evening. All Legionnaires not yet obligated will attend for their charge, with instruction and discussion expected, and the usual Legion Feed to follow the session.
